At Gaelic Web Design we are running Microsoft Windows 7. One of the bugs we discovered is that the when we delete a file or rename a folder  “My Computer” (file manager) does not update, if you press F5 it will refresh. From searching the internet we have seen that this issue is affecting a lot of other users and there is no Microsoft fix.

Solution:

If you are having this problem fun a full check disk on your computer. We have seen this problem quite frequently on our laptops, and by running a full disk check the problem was resolved.

Firefox versios 3.5.

Shocking to see that that this issue has existed for many year, so its not just a Win 7 issue. Our first approach was to search the internet to see is anyone else was having this issue, and we were shocked to find that this issue had been seen in other windows version back since 2007 but no fix offered by Mozilla. So at Gaelic Web Design we decided to investigate this issue because we have upgraded our systems to Win 7 and we run all the top web browsers on all systems.

The fix for this problem if you are running Windows 7 is:

Start Firefox in safe mode

Go to “Tools” and then “Options”

On the Main page click on the button “Manage Add-ons”

In the “Add-ons” windows go to the tab “Extensions” and disable the “Automatic password input in Fx 1.0”

Then close and start Firefox normally.
