Many businesses are finding search engine optimization critical to their B2B marketing strategy, says a recent survey from Practical Ecommerce.
The survey found that 95 percent of its respondents thought that search engine optimization was "essential" to running their organization. An additional 3.1 percent indicated that they didn't know whether SEO was important, while 1.9 percent said that it was not.
A majority of the respondents felt that their website was optimized for search engines, but many also admitted to not fully understanding the concept of SEO. According to the survey, 82.8 percent claimed their website was optimized, but only 40.6 percent indicated they had a firm grasp on SEO.
"Organic search is a priority, but it is a moving target, so you can't spend all your time trying to watch or improve your results," one of the respondents told the source. "It is becoming less important (or at least a harder target to hit) as more social media, search personalization and the various ways of viewing search results evolves."
According to a recent survey conducted by marketing automation software provider Genius, many businesses are missing out on opportunities with B2B SEO. The survey claims only 32 percent of firms are using B2B search engine optimization tools.
