Author: The flood water in Carlow is now going down and many roads that were closed are now open. On Thursday morning it tuck me 45 minutes to go from my house to the FairGreen Shopping Centre but today I could do this journey in 10 minutes as the roads from town to Laois side of town are now open. The big cleanup operation is now starting where people can see the true damage of the flooding to their houses and business. I have spoken to several people who were made homeless by the flooding and it such a sad sight to see people and hear their story about how they have nothing except the clothes on their back. One girl told me she was made homeless, all her clothes were under water, and everything she had was destroyed.
