How much does a website cost?
There are quite a few factors that are going to affect the ultimate cost of your website. These factors include how many pages you require, if you will sell products on your website, the graphic work involved, and how interactive your website will be, do you require an admin area, CMS, web 2.0 technology, blog, etc…. Most website are built unique to meet each customers requirements so until we fully know your requirements and the features you require we cannot give you an accurate cost estimate.
Besides the cost of building the website, what other costs are involved in getting a website up and running?
You will also need web hosting and domain name registration. Depending on your plan to attract customers to your website you may also need to consider a budget for Internet marketing and SEO. If your site needs to be highly secure it is also a good idea to get a good eSecurity company to carry out security audits at least once a year.
How long does it take to design a website?
The time frame is determined by the complexity of your site design.
What is a URL?
This is the address you type into your web page to view a web page. For example, the URL for Gaelic Web Design is http://www.gaelicwebdesign.com .
What is a domain name?
A domain name is a unique website. For example the domain name of "Gaelic Web Design" is gaelicwebdesign.com. Domain names can have many different ending the most popular are .com, .edu, .info, .eu and .gov.
Can I get you to design my site and use my own web hosting?
You can use any web host company you like. Once your website has been completed we can upload it to your hosting account.
I don't have any webhosting account can you recommend one?
If you do not have a webhosting account we will recommend one, and if your site has any special feature that our recommended list of hosting companies do not offer we will also help you find a suitable hosting company.
What is web hosting?
For your website to be live on the internet it needs to be installed on a web server. A hosting company is a company that provides space on a webserver for your website. Normally web hosting companies charge a monthly or yearly fee. Most hosting companies can also take care of your Domain Name registration for you.
Why can't I find my web site in the search engines?
Once your website is up and running it needs to be submitted to the top Search Engines they may require several weeks, or even months to actually spider and list your website in their directory. How fast your site is listed depends on each individual Search Engines database update schedule and how high you site ranking level is. If you watch your server traffic logs for visiting spiders this can give you an indication if search engine index your site regularly. Once your website is up and running for 3 months we recommend having an SEO review of your site to determine its ranking and to identify any issues that could be preventing it from appearing in search engines.
How can I make my website be number One in search engines like Google?
There are many scams out there that will claim to guarantee you the number one or top 3 position in Google, but to be honest achieving the top ranking in Google for your search terms is never guaranteed, and it takes a lot of SEO work to get your site to climb up the ranking in search engines. Once you have made it to the top you also have to remember that your competitor are also doing a lot of SEO work to try and rank higher than you, so to stay on top requires regular SEO.
How important is the look and feel of my website?

What is the difference between a “static” and a “dynamic” site?

A dynamic site is written using more complex code and normally has a CMS and database in the back end. A CMS is an area where you can log in and change various parts of the site, such as adding content, products, images and video. Once your website is designed you are free to contract the services of an alternative website company to carry out any update or enhancements for you.

Can I see how many visitors I've had to my website?
